Description: Proposed new build offices on a green field site. The site is located in a predominantly rural area with minimal built form in close proximity. Many of the surrounding built form is agricultural buildings in the form of barns, storage granary sheds and stables. The design principles for this project were to produce a building that is sensitive to its surroundings and takes precedent from the surrounding built form. The use of slate roof tiles and natural timber cladding combined with brickwork, with an agricultural style of architecture in terms of a cropped gable roof and steep gable ends provide a barn style look.
